Day 3, Saturday December 14, 2013

December 14, 2013 by Chris and Maggie Hostetter

This one is going to be short, because 3 long blog posts 3 days in a row is too much for me.

Today involved sleeping in a bit, visiting with some Pal folks (who came to us, we didn’t go to them), playing outside with the kids, playing soccer on the chopper pad with some Pal friends, fixing a leak in our roof (successfully, I think), unsuccessfully fixing our broken washing machine (thank you Fachners for letting us use yours while you’re away), baking sugar cookies and gingerbread cookies for Christmas (well, that was Maggie and not me), frosting said cookies with the kids (I did partake in that event), washing a ton of dishes (we didn’t wash dishes at all on Friday), playing Apples to Apples Junior with the kiddos, digging out the dissolving ditch on the uphill side of our house, and sitting around the Christmas tree this evening as a family making each other laugh.

Other than the Christmas season stuff, that was a fairly normal Saturday. Saturday is usually my house projects day but I have no major projects currently pending so that frees up my weekends a little bit. I usually get a good card or board game in with Micah and Cole on Saturday afternoons too. Anyways, we’re counting the days down till Christmas now. And, not too brag or anything, but it will be Christmas here first! 🙂
