Happy 1st Birthday Bea!

February 26, 2014 by Chuck and Shannon Talbot

Last Monday we celebrated the birth of our baby girl, Beatrice!  It is hard to believe that we saw her with our eyes for the first time a year ago.  Time sure goes by too fast.  I am not ready to have my baby grow up.

Bea certainly keeps us busy.  She is a busy little girl now that she has learned to crawl, pull herself up to furniture and cruise along it.  She finds everything she is not supposed to get into and lets us know that she doesn’t like being told no!  She certainly can scream and cry and get mad.  There is no doubt that she has the temper of a red head!  She is going to be a fun child to raise!

But she is also a loving little girl when she wants to.  She can give some of the nicest snuggles.  She is even learning to give kisses, open mouthed but kisses!  She loves her brothers and sisters very much.  Everyone says that she always smiles at them, which is true.  She sure is a blessing.

We decided to have a village birthday party so they could help us celebrate Bea’s birthday.  It took all day to prepare the food. But it was fun to be surrounded by ladies that were willing to help.  I certainly can’t pound rice very well.  And I don’t often prepare food for 100, so I wouldn’t know how much to make.  Chuck also participated by cutting firewood, collecting coconut and grating it. We estimated that we fed around 115 people. Here are some pictures to show you how much fun we had:
