We are now over half way through our home assignment and it is flying by fast. Each week is busy with many things to do. I keep thinking we will slow down and find a routine, but I don’t think that is going to happen!
So what have we been doing?
School– the kids are great at getting going in the morning with their school work. We are doing a lighter load as we technically finished our 2015/16 school year in October 2015. They are also enjoying being part of a local homeschool group. Field trips are the best part!
Art Lessons– Hala and Charlotte love to create things. We are so thankful for a friend that is a wonderful artist that is teaching our girls so much stuff.
Swimming Lessons– You would think that living in a country with 7107 islands that we would be at beaches all the time and our kids would learn to swim without any effort. But we rarely make it to the beach or to a pool. We have just started our second block of lessons. Even Bea is getting some pool time.
Driving Lessons– It’s hard to believe that Eli is driving. He got his G1 in November but with the winter weather he didn’t get much time on the road. He has now finished all his in-class drivers Ed and will continue to work on driving with Dad and with his driving instructor.
Golf Club– Kyle has been waiting for the High School golf club to start. His grandfather introduced him to golf last summer. Now he will go every week with the high school.
Traveling– Nearly every Sunday in March, April and May we are traveling to different churches to share what the Lord is doing among the Ga’dang. Plus we do some mid-week sharing as well. A couple of weeks ago we spent 5 days in Vineland. We had a great time with many activities and getting to know people so much better. We even enjoyed a trip to Niagara Falls.
Watching & Listening– Chuck is finishing up watching some Translation Training videos in preparation for preparing Bible lessons and translating some of the Old Testament. He is also listening through many of his recordings with his language helper to make sure he isn’t missing anything in his understanding of the culture. This also helps him to keep Ga’dang fresh in his mind.
Birthdays and Family Time– We have celebrated 3 birthdays with our family in the last couple of months plus enjoyed a gathering for Easter. We try to get as much time as we can with family when we are in Canada.
Please keep us in your prayers as we try to balance all that we need and want to do in the coming months. Chuck will hopefully start working part time soon and with warmer weather we hope to get outside more.
