CLA Conference

October 28, 2007 by

The multi-media for this conference has involved way more than usual because three languages are involved.

Three screens; one in English, one in Portuguese; and one in Spanish.

Translators are stationed in booths. They listen to the speaker and translate into Portuguese and Spanish.  Speakers of those languages are on the conference floor, listening to the translation on earphones.  Dave had to modify the translator booths at the last minute when the design proved inadequate.

Dave trained several men to handle the multi-media system, and has been supervising them.  He has also covered a number of sessions himself.

Many attending the conference brought orders for computers or computers needing repair.  Dave’s been scrambling to get these tasks done and computers in the right hands before the conference finishes.

  • Pray for Dave during this busy time as he continues to coordinate the multi-media for the conference and as he handles the extra computer work that the participatents brought for him.
