We made it to Ohio on Monday, the 5th, after being on the road for 2 1/2 weeks. It’s nice to be in one place for a few weeks. We’ve been enjoying getting to visit with DJ’s grandparents every day, and the girls and I have been working steadily on home schooling to try to keep them caught up with their class in Texas. We also have been working on sorting and packing projects since quite a bit of our stuff has been stored here ever since we first went to Asia Pacific 7 years ago. So now we’re figuring out what to get rid of and what to take back to Texas with us next month.
This morning we got to attend our home church for the first time in 4 1/2 years. DJ got to give a brief ministry update in both services. It was so nice to see many of our good friends, encouragers, and supporters from our church family here. This Wednesday we’ll have the privilege of sharing more about our ministry in the evening service.
A few days before we got to Ohio, DJ came down with a cold that apparently was a different strain from the cold the rest of us had at the beginning of the trip. Several of the rest of us have since caught this new cold. As of today, DJ and Areli both have a low fever, Areli is coughing, DJ has a sore throat, and the rest of us aren’t feeling 100% either. I guess it’s that time of year, but we’d really like to get to visit with people during our time here, without exposing them to whatever bug we currently have. So please pray that we’ll all be healthy soon. Thank you!
