This year we have the rare opportunity to spend the holidays with family in our home country. We’ve already enjoyed two different family Thanksgiving dinners and a Thanksgiving dinner at church too. The week of Thanksgiving was a very hard one for my (Jennifer’s) grandmother. She was in a great deal of pain due to complications from her cancer, and for most of the week she wasn’t even able to be up. But on Thanksgiving Day when the whole extended family was planning to gather together, she had her best day all week and was able to be up and enjoy the visiting. We know that the Lord gave us the gift of that good day with her, just like He has given us so many good memories for the past 6 months.
This evening we plan to mark the start of the Christmas season by finding and cutting down a tree together out in the pasture near my grandmother’s house. She kept an eye out for good Christmas trees for us every time she went for walks there during the whole past 2 years while we were gone. We are very much looking forward to making good Christmas memories during this last month before our return to Asia Pacific on Jan. 7.
Thank you for praying about our dental work. All of us are finished with that now. I still have some pain but at this point it is manageable. I have a couple more doctor’s appointments and then all of that should be done.
Our sharing time with the Baptist Temple church in Uvalde went very well last week. We are enjoying getting to know the church family there.
Thank you all so much for praying.
