We’re currently enjoying south Texas fall weather—40s or 50s at night and 70s in the day. The pecan trees on the back half of my (Jennifer’s) dad’s property have produced a bumper crop this year, so we’ve been picking pecans every chance we get. I realized a while back that this is the first time I’ve gotten to experience this time of year at home in Texas since 1998, the year before I left for Bible school.
DJ and Tyndale have both finished their dental work, and I should only have one or two appointments left. Areli also has one appointment left. We would appreciate prayers that my tooth pain will go away (I’m still in quite a bit of pain from dental work that has already been done), and that DJ and I will know the best place to get the crowns (one each) that we need.
Next week DJ has been given an opportunity to share at a church in Uvalde (30 miles away) during their Sunday morning service. We have recently been attending this church part time and are starting to get to know people there. We’re so thankful for the opportunity, and we’d appreciate prayers that the Lord will allow us to continue to develop friendships there.
We have booked tickets to return to Asia Pacific on January 7. The goodbyes this time are going to be even harder than normal (and that’s saying something.) Both my grandmother and my mother are in very poor health and are struggling a lot with the thought of us leaving again. We continue to take supper to my grandmother twice a week and spend those afternoons/evenings with her. We are treasuring every minute. And we’ve also been able to connect more with my mom this time than at any other time that we’ve been home. We stop in at her house most Sunday afternoons after church. On top of that, we have the privilege of living on the same property as my dad and stepmom, so we get to see them every day. They are such a blessing to us and our kids.
Thank you so much for praying. We are so grateful to have all of you in our lives. God bless you!
