Thank you so much for your prayers and concern over these past crazy months with all the different sicknesses our family has experienced. We can say that at the moment we are all doing well, which is a huge praise! Tyndale still has occasional residual joint pain from his HSP, but no more rashes or swelling for a couple months now. It took about a month for me (Jennifer) to feel close to normal energy level again after dengue, but I am doing well now (other than a little normal tiredness from several very busy work weeks in a row.)
Our 3 new families and 1 new single language student arrived in late July and are going full steam ahead in their language and culture studies. This week they’ll have their “kick-off” into the second half of stage 1. Then we’ll make the rounds again to sit in on a language session with each of them in order to see how it’s going and answer any questions they might have. Meanwhile, our family & single who arrived in March are well into their stage 2 studies now and starting to practice talking in the national language about the daily routines of life here.
For quite a while now, our orientation & consulting team has been made up of 3 families, including us. One of those families (including the other consultant besides me) are planning to take their home assignment back in the States from December of this year to August of next year, we are planning our home assignment for a year beginning in May of next year (2 months before those co-workers get back), and the third couple are planning to retire next fall after 40 years of service on our field. At the same time, it looks like we may have 12 new families coming next year to study national language and culture. So we have been needing new personnel for our team, and we are thrilled to say that the Lord has provided another family to join us! They agreed to move here from the region where they were serving in order to help meet the needs here at least for the next couple years. Lincoln is learning consulting, and Alisha is helping out with secretarial jobs, event coordinating, etc. while she continues her culture and language study. We are so thankful for them and the answer to prayer that they represent!
