Tyndale’s Health
We are so thankful for all of you. Thank you for praying for Tyndale’s health, and for us as we have worked to get him the care he needs. We ended up postponing his appointment in Singapore from Dec 29 to Jan 3 in order to avoid the holiday travel rush. And DJ and I both went to Singapore with him. Some friends of ours graciously allowed Areli and Galilee to stay with them for the 4 nights we were gone.

Upon being seen by the pediatric immunologist, Tyndale was immediately admitted to the hospital to be given steroids via IV in order to get his Henoch-Schonlein purpura under control. We noticed immediate improvement in Tyndale’s pain levels after he received his first dose of the medicine–he was finally able to sleep soundly all night without stomach pain for the first time in almost 2 weeks. After the first 3 days of IV treatments, he was released from the hospital and allowed return home and continue his medications orally. He will need to continue them in gradually decreasing doses for about the next month, and then the hope is that he’ll be able to stop the medicines and his HSP won’t recur. Please be praying with us that this will be what happens. He is scheduled to have a follow-up appointment with the immunologist next month.

Two days after we returned from our medical trip with Tyndale, the kids started back to school for the second semester of their school year. Please pray that the Lord will protect Tyndale from contact with any viruses or other illnesses at school (or anywhere else) during the next month or so while his immune system is weakened by the steroid treatments.

DJ and I have jumped back in to our work responsibilities too. I’ve gotten the opportunity to sit in and observe a couple language sessions with different students yesterday and today. It’s been encouraging to see their progress and talk together with them about things they can do to keep making progress.
Thanks again for praying for us.
