Down here in south Texas we’re starting to see signs of spring—redbuds, mountain laurels, and fruit trees are blooming, and some of the trees are starting to bud and leaf out. We have started tilling and mulching the garden down at my dad’s place in preparation for planting later this month.
Thank you all so much for your ongoing prayers for our health & the decisions we’ve been working through. We’ve made the decision to extend our home assignment through the end of July (taking a 2-month medical extension) in order to try to get enough medical appointments, etc. taken care of before we return to the field. We still need to work through some of the arrangements for continuing care long-distance once we’re back in Asia too, so we appreciate your prayers for that process.
Our current plan is to arrive back in Asia Pacific at the end of July/beginning of August, about a week before the kids start back to school at their Christian school in our town. We plan to return to the same house, same town, and same ministry where we have served for the past 6 years (helping to coach new missionary families through the process of learning the national language and culture.) Please pray that when the time comes, the transition back will go smoothly and we’ll be able to find a sustainable pace in the ministry so we don’t get as burned out again as we were feeling by the end of our last term.
Tyndale continues to just have relatively mild, intermittent symptoms of HSP (a few spots, a few joint pains.) His bloodwork that was done in January came back normal, so he was denied for the immunoglobulin treatment. Please join us in praying that his symptoms will go away completely. DJ and the kids are still getting dental work done over the next month plus as well.
Thanks so much for your prayers & encouragement. We sure do appreciate every one of you!
