We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year’s. Thank you so much for praying for us over the past month. We were blessed with good family time over the holidays. The kids have been enjoying their break from school. Tyndale starts back this coming Tuesday for the second semester of his sophomore year, and Areli starts her second semester of community college a week after that. It’s been really nice having her home from the dorm for the past several weeks. Galilee has not been able to sign up for college classes yet as her migraines are still not under control. The neurologist mentioned that after the next Botox treatment we may need to reevaluate the treatment plan. Please keep praying, and thank you all so much for continuing with us in prayer for all these years.
We got a chance to see the Lord’s provision a couple weeks ago when our 15-year-old mini van with 225,000 miles on it died on a routine trip down to Uvalde. DJ and the kids were headed there to do some last minute Christmas shopping on DJ’s birthday (the 21st) when the engine blew out. We knew we would probably not get too many more years out of the van since we’d already been driving it for 12 years. But with the decrease in our support level since we took on Stateside ministries, it has been challenging to save up for expenses like this even when we know they are likely coming. Still, we have taken our trusty van across many remote distances (and even the weekly drive to Uvalde is 30 very rural miles), so we were very thankful that it decided to die in Uvalde just a few blocks from a mechanic shop. And my dad was already in Uvalde that day too, so he was able to give DJ and the kids a ride home. And the blessings didn’t stop there. A good friend and supporter loaned us a vehicle by a couple days later. Two days after Christmas DJ went used-car shopping and right before he closed the deal on a vehicle, our friend & supporter got in touch to let us know he wanted to give us the vehicle he had loaned to us. We are humbled and very thankful. We’re also thankful for all of you who pray for us, even though most of you didn’t know about this specific situation. We were getting ready to write and ask you to pray about it—and the Lord answered those prayers before you got a chance to pray them!
Thanks so much again for the roles you each play in showing God’s love and spreading the Gospel wherever you are and around the world too.
