Down here in southwest Texas, peach trees and agarita bushes are blooming and spring is in the air. We’re all hoping we don’t get a hard freeze at the wrong time so that we’ll have fruit and berries to pick a few months from now. Galilee and Jennifer have already been harvesting wild onions along the river. (Don’t worry, we make sure they aren’t poisonous, look-alike plants and we harvest responsibly so that plenty of onions are left to propagate.)
In January, Jennifer was able to help lead another evaluation from afar. This one was a Stage 3 evaluation for a good friend who is serving in a remote people group not far from where we used to serve with the Hobongan. She has made a lot of progress in her culture & language study, and we were able to work together to come up with a plan for her to continue to make steady progress. Jennifer plans to meet with her again toward the end of this month when she makes a trip out to town and has a better internet connection.
FFA competition season will start for Tyndale in a couple weeks. Please pray for safety in travels. Living in a very rural area means that school kids have to travel a long ways to participate in competitions. This often means they will leave early in the morning and get back home at midnight or 1:00 am on a school night. Or sometimes they will need to be gone overnight.
Galilee’s next Botox treatment is scheduled for March 5. At that time, the neurologist also wants to discuss adjusting Galilee’s treatment plan since the migraines are being very stubborn (this, unfortunately, seems to be the pattern with the type of migraines that run in our family.) Please pray for answers & direction.
Areli’s second semester of community college is going well. She has a campus work study job that she likes, and it’s a blessing for helping to make ends meet financially too.
DJ & his team are continuing to oversee and maintain the network at our organization’s home office, and are working on several projects related to that. We praise the Lord for the provision of another used, small cabin shell that DJ has been able to turn to an office space on one end. It’s nice for him to have a bit more space now that he doesn’t have to work out of our small bedroom in the cabin we live in. He was also able to find some used Cisco networking equipment at a good price and set that up so he can keep practicing for his CCNA certification.
Thank you so much for keeping us in your prayers. We pray that you and all of the ones you love will be showered with the Lord’s blessings wherever you are.
