Thank You For Your Service
Dearest Friends in the Lord’s Work,
Thanks so much for all you do in helping us locate and challenge folks to reach tribal people. There are so many good groups and causes to be involved in and we praise the Lord for those who reach so many different folks who are lost. Without your help, the Body of Christ would not be working effectively so Cheryl and I just want to say thanks for your involvement both prayerfully and financially.
Half of the Summer is Gone
Sometimes, it seems that time flies so fast. Half of the summer is gone already but the last half will be busier than the first half. In June, I attended NTM’s International Training Forum and it was extremely helpful to me to help me explain better NTM’s goals and objectives for the future. I was very encouraged and wished that all of you could have been there. Needless to say, I am ready for the next semester, Lord willing.
I then went to Whispering Winds Bible Camp and was the camp missionary. This is an annual event for me and I had a tremendous time. This is always a highlight for me and I love the staff and kids.
After I left the camp, I went to Tulsa to meet with some young folks who are interested in coming into NTM. I had supper with them and the time with them was great. I also stopped by and visited with a couple who just finished training with NTM and are heading for the Philippines as teachers. Then I went to Bella Vista, AR to attend church at Northwest Community Church where some friends of mine who are in PNG now are members. Then I went on to say goodbye to the Crabtrees who are getting ready to leave for Papua New Guinea to be church-planters this week.
Tonight, we are having the missions committee from our church over for a cookout and get to know them better.
Next week, Cheryl and I head to Girard, KS for a mission conference and from there I head to Oshkosh, WI for the annual EAA Fly-In to represent NTM Aviation and after that is over, I will head to Hillsboro, WI for another week of camp. This will be a new camp for me so please pray that I will do a good job of challenging young folks to live for the Lord.
I am planning to make one more stop at Northland International University in northern Wisconsin to introduce one of our Bible Institute presidents to the staff and to reconnect with them to see how NTM can partner together with them in ministry opportunities. After that, I return home until the Fall semester starts.
The Family
Everyone is doing well. Cheryl babysits our two granddaughters during the week so she has plenty to do while I am out on the road. Our children are doing fine and we all enjoy being at church together.
Grateful
As Fall approaches, please pray for more laborers and that the Lord would direct us to those who are interested in giving their lives to reach the lost. He has directed us to people who are serious about their walk with the Lord and willing to leave their families, friends, homes and what was dear to them to reach those who may steal from them, not appreciate them and generally oppose them but will one day kiss the ground that they walk on because they will realize what would have been their future if these dear friends of ours had not come to them to bring them the gospel of the grace of God. Two families are already there and another is leaving this week. Another couple of families are leaving in the next six months and another one in about a year. Without your support and prayers, we would not have met these families and invested in them.
Prayer Requests
1.More people willing to go
long-term into missions
2.Pray that the Lord will protect
missionaries from sickness
and sin
3.Strength for Cheryl and I as
we travel to visit potential
laborers
4.Spiritual growth of all our
children and for the salvation and spiritual growth of our grandchildren
5.Pray that Cheryl and I would have a true love for our brothers and sisters in
the Lord and a determination to see the gospel go to the ends of the earth.
Our Purpose and Conviction
This is what we work for; churches maturing, not only in their faith and understanding of the Scriptures but also passing on their knowledge and understanding to others who do not know. As Paul said to Timothy in 2 Tim. 2:2: “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, the same commit to faithful men who shall be able to teach others also.”
Keep the faith, everyone.
