Cheryl and I want you to know about an event which happened this past weekend. You might notice this woman, Beta, with a book in her hand that says “Etip Kartolngoke La Kanesngo” which translated means, Our Creator, His Talk or God’s Word.
Many of you know that Cheryl and I were missionaries in Papua New Guinea and eventually worked with the Solong people in West New Britain province of PNG. This lady and the pictures that follow at the end of this letter are the people whom we worked with. What happened this past weekend was the New Testament dedication for the Solong people.
Cheryl and I want to thank Paul and Robina Wolff for hanging in there and seeing this to completion. We came home in 1998 to take care of some family members who were sick and in need of help but the Wolffs continued on and saw the Solong church brought to maturity and also did most of the work completing the New Testament. Well done, Wolffs, well done!
Please pray for the Solong people and that the Lord will have His way in their lives. They have been growing and maturing over the years and it is a privilege to see them excited and motivated to see the Word of God spread out to other villages and tribes. Enjoy the pictures. By the way, the Bibles have been printed using a new technique where the pages are a kind of plastic. One of the promotional tools for these Bibles is when you go into a store and are able to find one, many times the store owner will go over to the fish tank and retrieve it from there, shake it off and hand it to a customer. This should make these Bibles last much longer, especially in tropical and humid climates. Amazing, isn’t it? Once again, enjoy the pictures.
