Dearest Friends,
Love the Body (of Christ)
Cheryl and I want to thank you all so much for your prayers and kindness. Just three weeks ago I was on the operating table getting a triple bypass and today I am walking 3 miles a day and getting my strength back. Most people are surprised at how fast I am recovering. Cheryl is doing well also. I am sure that she will be glad when Spring comes and she can get back outside once again.
We owe much to your prayers and love for us. Thank you very much.
Back To Work
Next month I am looking forward to getting back on the road and meeting with high school and college kids and families about reaching those who’ve never heard. There are so many opportunities for people to go to the regions beyond to proclaim the Gospel of the grace of God. Please pray that we would find the right people who would be interested in this and dedicated enough to give their lives for those who will never hear.
Almost there
Concerning our vehicle fund, someone gave us a large gift last week towards that end. We are now at about 92% of our goal, give or take a few percent depending on how much we sell our old car for. Please pray that we find the right car for the right price and have something that we can depend on for the next five or six years.
Grateful for you all
Unless something changes, I think this will be our last letter talking about the surgery. We both expect everything to improve and get better and now it is just a matter of us getting back to work doing what we believe the Lord wants us to do.
Because of the Affordable Care Act, our deductible increased 500% last year so the surgery on the basal cell carcinoma at the end of last year and this surgery at the beginning of this year hit us kind of hard. He will provide!
We appreciate partnering together with everybody and thank you all for your support both financially and in prayer. It seems to me that the main lesson learned in this situation is that the Lord was to show how long he can use broken pots. And for that we will leave it up to him.
Keep the faith everyone. Let’s keep pressing on until the Lord returns.
Laboring together with you,
Doug & Cheryl Schaible
