SEPTEMBER 2012
Thank you for praying for Freddy and Augustina and their little baby girl. Dwight was able to fly Freddy and baby back to their home on Sept 25th. Mom had gone on an earlier flight to be back with her other children, as the baby was needing extra attention and ended up staying in the hospital for about 3 weeks. We thank the Lord for the airplane, as Augustina would have probably died in child birth. There are no roads to where they live and they probably would have been several weeks on the river trying to get to a hospital. That brings us to our special prayer request that God would work in the hearts of the officials in La Paz and grant Dwight his indefinite pilot’s license. Some tell him that things would be easier if he became a Bolivian, but according to the Bolivian regulations this is not a requirement. So the big question is, what do we do now? What is God trying to tell us through all this? “Be still and know that I am God…” just might be the next step??

Sept 7th was a special day for Dwight. The church leadership decided to put on a surprise birthday party for him, and I have to say they really pulled it off! He was totally surprised, and got a good laugh when he saw his own electric grill that his wife had given him for his birthday, being used to make shishkabobs. On the front of the grill was a paper sign that said “property of IBM church”!
Sept 14th Dwight took off on a men’s retreat for a couple of days. They camped not far from a river and went fishing (so they say)….but all they could come up with were these little “guys” that they fried in a pan and ate. But the owner of the property ended up saving the day by fishing with a net and getting some “real” fish. The time was really special interacting with the men from church.
Sept 20th was a day that I found out that my husband has been holding out on me all these years! He can make a mean pizza! I found this out when the women’s group decided to have a special night for the young people and Dwight was asked to help Pastor Gustavo in the kitchen assembling and baking pizzas for about 60 people!
Sept 21st we and our coworkers (the Chalas) were invited to a seminary to represent the Mission and talk about the ministries that we have. They invited us to stay for lunch, which is always good here in Cochabamba.
Sept 27th we headed back to Santa Cruz a bit early so Dwight could be there for the leadership meetings, while I worked in the office. That week, Dwight wanted to fly, but no license. So we thought of going to Santa Cruz with our vehicle, but there were a lot of blockades going on in different parts of the country. So we ended up flying across on the commercial airlines because Dwight’s license had already run out.
