Hi, everyone!
Our last update told you about our trip back to the US. After arriving into Wichita, the following week we were able to go be with our friends (Doc and Jeanne) in St Jo, MO; who is also the doctor who has been helping me out with my health. He took most of my blood but did leave a little bit for me. ☺ (This, by the way, has all come back ok. Just seems to be an adrenal gland problem, which hopefully in time and with rest, will get better.) As always we felt so loved and cared for by our dear friends.
The next week, Dwight traveled by car up to WI to attend some meetings. He also enjoyed making contact with our pilot and family, Jon and Adie Leedahl. (They had returned from PNG for more medical help after losing his leg from a motorcycle accident.) On the return trip, he almost got stuck in the late snow storm that came up. But God helped him to be able to keep going and was able to get far enough south to get out of it, and spend the night with our friends (Paul and Lois) near Des Moines, IA.
The following week, we began to prepare for our long drive south. We rented a truck that was big enough to haul a trailer with a vehicle on it and on March 30th we pulled out of Wichita. The 2 days of travelling went very well, and we were so grateful for the hotel room that one of our special friends paid for us. We arrived in McNeal, AZ late afternoon, about 5pm; as we had gained 2 hours.
The maintenance team had so graciously temporarily furnished the house with the necessary appliances and a sofa and some chairs. The hostess team had a bed all made up and clean towels and a clean house waiting for us. Over the course of the next few days, several ladies gave us “welcome” gifts of dish towels, dish cloths, etc. and even meat for our freezer! At the break time on one of the mornings, they had a welcome for us. We certainly did feel very welcome!
Then on April 10th we headed north again to Wichita by road again. From there we took a flight to PA where we attended a member care symposium. We came away feeling very blessed and also equipped with some good materials that will be helpful in our new ministry.
We made it back to Wichita and will be here for about 2 weeks. We hope to be able to visit some supporters not too far away and also help our son move into a smaller apartment. Dwight’s brother and his wife (Doug and Rachel) also will be coming through on their way south. Then it will be time for us to also head south and get more settled into our new home and ministry there in McNeal.
Please pray for our transition. Also, in time, we will need to replace all the major appliances and furniture in the house that we are so graciously being able to use temporarily. Pray for some good bargains! Thank you so much for your prayers!
Dwight and Diana
