Hello everyone,
We have finally moved to our region of service where we will begin our second half of national language and culture study. We will also begin to build relationships with the local church that we will work alongside while we are here. There was a family living here with a different organization who have just left for home assignment and we have been blessed to stay in their house for the 10 months that they will be gone.
The house is very nice and it has been a huge blessing to have a living situation that is already fully furnished. Eventually we will have to look for another living situation but in the mean time this works out great for us to get accustomed to the culture and the area here and not have to focus on setting up a house in the mean time.
We and 2 other families shipped a container with all of our stuff and it all arrived without any problems, Praise the Lord.
Our connection here with the local church is very important. We will be working alongside them in our church planting efforts here in this province. It is likely that we will have national co-workers on our team as we move interior within in the next couple of years.
We will continue to plug in to this church and work on our understanding of the culture and language of the people here. Over the next few months we will be looking towards a people group interior that we can work with. Please pray with us in that decision. We may end up having to do a few survey trips to find out a lot more information about different people groups. For now we will continue studying the culture and language here in this area. Thank you for your support of us in this task.
This move has been a great time of encouragement for us as we feel we are so much closer now to being able to begin a work interior. But we have also been reminded of the need to see this as where God has us right now also and to focus on being a testimony to our neighbors around here too instead of always looking ahead to our “future ministry”. We know God has a purpose for us here now and we want to be fully engaged here.
Recently we were all sick for over a week which was very draining but now we are all healthy again and feeling more encouraged. It is super hot here but Joshua never seems to mind the heat and loves going outside and seeing all the bugs and animals in our neighborhood.
Cherie is now 29 weeks pregnant and everything is going very well with the pregnancy.
Within the next two weeks we will be taking a visa trip out of country to get our more permanent visa. Please pray that the visa will come through for us, and that there are no complications flying in and out of country while pregnant. Thank you guys so much for all of your support.
