In just three weeks the landscape was transformed. It is incredible dusty and dry and the landscape on our way back to our village was often brown and black (from veldt burns). The temperatures are also way higher than normal for October. People are suffering.
We drove back with our partner, Phil, as well as three guests. Here we are taking a break next to the road. Because of the dust, the second car stayed a few kilometres behind the front one. If not, the visibility was near zero because of the dust.
Phil and Elin are on home assignment in the States, but he is visiting to participate in the meetings and form over the last weeks. He is coming to Mwinikaland for a few to greet friends and visit the believers.
Beautiful! This rock is our half way mark back to the village and a happy sight to us all!

Rich, one of our visitors who came to teach at the Curriculum Development Workshop shows the pictures he has taken to this group of people. This was probably their first experience in seeing an image of themselves and they were dancing with joy! 🙂 While waiting for Phil’s vehicle to catch up, Francois started a conversation with an old man. He decided that we needed food to revive us (our AC is broken and this was about mid-day!). Soon his wife appeared with cooked cassava root and small whole scrimps in a sauce. We all sat down right there next to the road and enjoyed our impromptu snack! 🙂
