Dear Friends,
Hello from warm and sunny (and dry!) Florida! We are rejoicing in the blessings God has given, and are so thankful for His daily grace and strength.
Our work in the NTM Member Services office is bountiful and varied. We continue to be there to help out our folks as they transition into or out of NTM. We just wrote a retirement letter for one couple who have served over 35 years in NTM. What a blessing to affirm them, and tell their supporters what a blessing they have been. We endeavor to help our members through transition in their lives, and ministries within NTM. Please pray for us to have wisdom to be the encouragement we need to be. Thanks!
George and the all of our kids, except Tim, are traveling this weekend to Pennsylvania to a Youth Retreat for our NTM MK’s. George, and 2 other adults took 14 kids up and will bring 16 kids back in two vans. What a neat time of fellowship and growing these road trips and retreats are. So far, we have one chipped tooth, and one sprained ankle that I have heard of! They are having a ball!
Our MK & Friends Youth Group is going well. All of our kids are involved, and it is neat to see them encouraging others. It takes a team, and we have a great team! The group decided to continue meeting and having the teaching through the summer, so we will carry on with the Chronological teaching of the Bible. Can’t get too much of that!
Amy has returned from a successful trip out to Oregon. She had a great time planning and traveling to share in meetings with her partner she will work with on the mission field. God has provided a partner in a friend since high school days for Amy. Crystal Pierce is also from Baker City, and the two of them get along famously. It is a blessing to see how God has made them so their abilities and gifts blend together well. For more information on Amy and her trip-feel free to look at her web-page at www.ntm.org/amy_heckman/.
She has pictures and updates there. If you are interested in her newsletter, please write or call her using the contact information at the end of this letter.
Beka graduated Summa Cum Laude, and had a great Graduation ceremony. (6th of 669 graduates-it was a long ceremony!) She is excited to be finished, but looking ahead at the challenges she faces. She can’t wait to get to Bible School in Wisconsin. She even has a job lined up already at the gym there, coaching gymnastics. She is still writing songs. What a bunch of really good songs she is producing. She ment a contact on this trip to Pennsylvania who will record a cd for her! Wow-what a blessing! A dream come true for her!
Brett and Debby are doing well. They are all moved in their little house, and Debby says she has a “bowling ball” tummy. Baby Chloe is quite active! Brett is seeking new employment. Please pray that God will raise up the right job for Brett and his gifts! Thanks much! (Baby is Due September 3!)
David has his driver’s permit. We need to start practice driving soon. He will be doing Virtual School, on the internet next year for grade 10. Pray that we can establish some good study habits, and consistent wise use of our time. He is a self-starter and usually pretty motivated to do his best. He is so much fun to be around! We will be driving this summer-so if you are in Central Florida–watch out!! (Ha Ha).
Tim is looking forward to “hanging out” with his friends from school and NTM this summer. He is going to 2 youth groups, and really is a “people person”. He is planning on returning to Volusia County Christian Academy next fall for grade 9. Both boys did great in school this last year, both were on the honor roll.
Tim is busy helping Mom with projects while the rest of the family is gone. He is having lots of fun activites, too!
YAHOO!! Our storage buildings have passed inspection! We have painted the inside of one and are installing the shelves. The other is being used as a catch all for now, but has some more interior work to do. We need to give them both another coat of paint over the primer. What a blessing to have these sheds usable. We hope to be able to sell our trailer soon, as it is not really a very beautiful yard ornament! If you know of anyone needing a 24’, dual axle racecar trailer with a generator and wired with electricity, let us know!
Linda has been trying to get at some yard work as well as interior painting. The loving room is done, except for the trim. Yard work—well it is too hot to do much at a time, but part of a new flower bed is almost ready for mulch, and more decisions have been made for the landscaping!
George keeps us all involved with our home business. God has provided many free books through our local library. They have closed for a year for an expansion project and have thrown out many books that can be useful to us for our business.
Thank you, thank you, for your part in our ministry. We desire to see our lives used by God. Thanks for the prayer support we can count on from you. We appreciate what you share in our lives and ministries.
Joyfully in Him,
George and Linda Heckman
Beka, David, and Tim
