“As arrows in the hand of a mighty man , so are the children of the youth.” Psalm 127:5
July 2015
Our arrows are flying!
Amy and family are looking at returning to the US for Hector to finish his missionary training with NTM. Before they are able to come they have a few things happening. Baby “Ben” was born (July 7)! He has his appointment at the Consulate on July 15. Hector has his Green Card interview July 16. Pray all goes well for them. We are also praising the Lord for being able to find a reliable vehicle to buy for their travels as they will be in the US for the next couple of years. We found one last night! A really nice Honda Odyssey van.
Debby and Brett, after a bout with a MRSA infection in Debby’s leg (and a small surgery to remove it) took a trip to the village, where they plan to relocate, to finish Spanish study and begin the ministry, with their partners there. (PS-Debby’s leg has been proclaimed infection free by the doctor! Stitches came out July 3). That is a blessing. They also found out that day that Debby is pregnant with TWINS!!! She is also on bed-rest for a couple of weeks to be on the safe side with another issue that showed up in her ultrasound. We are thankful for GOOD medical care in Managua! That is really good, because now Chloe (age 6) has a MRSA infection too. The whole family is on antibiotics again! Thanks for your prayers.
Beka and Cody left June 29 to begin their trek to the Missionary Training Center in Missouri. They dropped off their trailer there, and have continued to Montana for a Burns family reunion, and then travel in Oregon and other areas of the Great Northwest, visiting with friends and our home church. They will return to MTC for training in Mid-August. This was a big move for them. Pray they have safety traveling and see God sufficient for all they need.
David, and his fiancé, Joice, traveled to Baker City Oregon the weekend of June 26-18 to have an interview at a church there. They are being considered for a Family Pastor/Worship leader position. Their pictures of “home” were beautiful! (David was born in Baker City.) Pray for God’s leading here.
Tim is enjoying his new job at Chase Bank. He and Charity are doing well in Wisconsin. Charity loves her job as a nanny, and they are enjoying married life. They recently got a dog.
That’s the update on our arrows. What a joy to see our children walking with our Heavenly Father!
Update on the Bible Teaching in Tangxxxxt tribe of PNG. Please continue praying for the Tribal Bible teachers as they weekly make the trek to Tangxxxxt and teach for the week. Pray for the hearts of the men, women and children listening, that they would be fertile soil eager to hear God’s unfolding story of redemption.
“Thank you again for praying for the Bible teaching happening in Tangxxxxt. It is so encouraging to see people listening, understanding and applying it to their lives. We know the battle continues to rage for the souls of these people and there are many deceptions of Satan to pull them down. Praise God for He is higher, stronger and already victorious!!
THANK YOU! You are a blessing to us.
We love the fact that we can update you and know you will pray for us, our family, and our ministries.
We are facing, these days, several hard things. We trust that God will continue to provide and encourage our hearts, but sometimes, when hard things happen, it is easy to get distracted and frustrated. BUT GOD, He is in control of the drama of our lives!
George has to get a replacement battery for his Prius. We found one for a big discount and it is being shipped here. We hope to install it this evening. George’s regular dental checkup indicated he had a tooth breaking and it needed a crown. He was there July 7, at the dentist, and wasn’t really very excited about it! Linda’s hospital bill from May came in. Her bill for the CT scan procedure hit us hard, but we are thankful there was nothing the matter.
We would have loved to be there for Baby Ben’s birth day in Mexico, but that won’t happen this time. We’re glad they have family there, and will be here soon. We may go out to deliver their new van. Praying for details on this possible trip.
We had a good friend, from the years we ministered in Colorado, who went Home to be with the Lord. We would love to go to Colorado for her Memorial service, but we might add that to a trip to pick up Amy and hector and their belongings as their plane is to moving to the US for a few years.
