Hello From The Heckmans!
We have had an exciting month. One of our friends in a South American country has been waiting on visa paperwork, and it seems the trail went cold in late June in Florida! We are trying to settle that for him as soon as we can! Pray for this family-that God will provide the added expenses that have been incurred while they have been in town at a Guest House waiting for the paperwork to arrive. Also pray that their visas are granted in a timely manner.
We are also helping quite a few of our missionaries through the process of retirement. We really try to encourage them in this, that they are not “Being put out to pasture” as it feels, sometimes, but that they are actually being freed up to continue in service to the Lord, without limitations, (like having to put in a 40 hour work week, for example).
Pray for us to have wisdom and be an encouragement to these dear folks who have given many years of their lives in the service of the KING OF KINGS.
In the beginning of August, Amy and Hector and the boys returned to Missions training in Missouri. Amy is teaching class of 9-2 year olds this semester. PRAY for them as they re-adjust to training, and a new schedule (and morning sickness! Baby #3 is due February 2018).
Debby and Brett and family in Nicaragua are doing well, and have a new kitten in their family. The twins, particularly Asher, loves the kitty! Health-wise, they are doing well. THANKS for surrounding them in prayer with us.
David and Joice are house hunting for a new place to rent. Praying for the Lord to guide in that situation. Right now they are back at our house with us temporarily.
Charity is still substitute teaching; please pray she has many opportunities to do so.
The other kids are doing well. Thanks for praying for our “tribe”. I will try to insert a picture for you of us with our 5 kids from our reunion in June/July. I’ll send one with all the spouses and Grandkids next letter! The tribe has grown!
We went to South Florida in the middle of the month to visit George’s family. They have been having some difficult times with health issues. We also had to deliver a car to George’s brother, that we picked up for him here in Central Florida. It is always nice to see the family!
The Lord is impressing us with His faithfulness! We celebrated 35 years on our anniversary this month! It is the Lord’s mercies that fail not, that have led, comforted, and provided as we have walked together with Him all these years! We praise HIM for the work He continues to do in our lives.
We celebrated our pastor’s 50th anniversary at church this month with a surprise party for he and his wife. It was a fun time, and I think we did manage to surprise them on our We have had an exciting month.
We want to close with some prayer requests. And as always, with our thanks for the part you play on our team. We appreciate your care for us, and the prayer and support that God uses you to provide for us.

October 10 is a Grand Opening for local businesses, and officials and first responders.
