Warm Greetings from warm and wet Florida!
Our days have been flying by. I apologize for a late letter this month! We have been travelling to Fort Lauderdale weekly, helping care for Mom and Dad. Dad’s bedsore is improving, and we wait in hope for his strength to return, and that he will be sitting up, and eventually walking again. This is a huge goal, especially when you consider he had been bedridden since mid-January. He has movement in all of his limbs, but will be needing to build muscle tone, and strength as he moves towards his goal. Mom’s health has been improving, and we are thankful for her improvement in her memory and daily activities. We have totally revamped her diet and have seen good results! Please pray we will have wisdom in our care for them both.
We have found a good Bible believing and teaching church in Southwest Ranches where we have been attending since we are there every week. We really miss our little church in Deltona. We trust that eventually we will be able to return there and be involved in the ministry again.
In May we carved out a week to go and open our rental house in Michigan for the season. It was a great joy to have wonderful weather. Greater joy, to have the week there to spend with Linda’s brother and sister-in-law. They were a tremendous blessing to us. We really needed a break in our routine, and a refreshing time there. Bob and Cindy saw to it that we were refreshed! Evening meals and boat rides were gladly provided all week. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
News from Nicaragua has been very disheartening. Brett and Debby evacuated the country in late April and returned to Florida. The violence has increased and is spreading even through their town. They have decided to stay here in Florida and have stepped out of Grace Ministries Int’l for this time. The Lord has gone before them and has provided a part time position at Grace Bible Church, as well as many other open doors. They really need prayer for their time now, that they would see their family grow strong, and be able to continue in ministry with people, drawing others close to the Lord.
News from Mxxxx in PNG:
Phase 1 has been going on for some weeks Joseph O., missionary to the Mxxx writes:
A lot of the people around here have heard (and remember in great detail) lots of Bible stories. The problem is they don’t understand the context of or connection between different stories.
Continue to pray that, as we teach, the truth will cut through the lies and pierce their hearts. Pray that they connect the dots and understand God’s grace and mercy for the first time.
Hector and Amy are doing well in Missouri. He graduated from his Missions training Course there and is currently doing a study in New Testament Greek. When he finishes that, they will travel to Mexico to drop off belongings, then travel up to Oregon for a time of Partnership Development. Their support level has to rise for them to be able to continue on to the field. Please pray for them as they travel with their 3 kids. Elena is teething already at 3 months!
Cody graduated from his flight school with commendations! He has passed his Private, Instrumental, and Commercial flying licenses. His next step is to take the Instructor’s course, so he can train others. After that is done, Beka and Cody will move, after a short break, to Ethnos Aviation’s center in Arizona for a course in “Jungle Aviation”. (9 months). Beka is still working with LIFE FLIGHT as a medic.
David and Joice are doing well. He recently changed jobs, and is no longer delivering flowers, but is working at a popular coffee shop in DeLand.
Tim and Charity are expecting baby Amelia around August 1. This is an exciting time for them. Charity’s Grandfather recently went home to be with the Lord. They have travelled to his memorial service this week.
Our work in the Office of Ethnos360 continues. We have many of our members reaching retirement age, and we do quite a bit of coaching, and working with them to move through the retirement process. We try to make it a good experience for them.
We just had over 50 new members added to our “ranks”. What a wonderful blessing to see these folks, so young and full of energy and zeal to reach the lost around the world! Thank you for praying for these folks, as they move through Partnership Development, and towards their fields of service.
We want to thank you so much for your continued prayer support for us as we serve with Ethnos360. We have had quite a different “Ride” this year than expected. But we know that God is for us, and He will continue to lead us, and go with us, even over the bumps in the road!
Thank you again! We think of you all often and are so thankful to have you on our team. Please let us know how we can pray for you.
Until next time, with our thanks,
George and Linda Heckman
