
Very Rough . . .
Studying a language is like putting together a puzzle with more than a thousand pieces. You find the pieces all around, but even when you put them together, they’re not always in the right order.

Making friends being sensitive
As we visit the neighbors, we chat, make jokes, introduce ourselves and get to know them; they communicate words to us in the language and reveal aspects of their culture, which we take into account by recording them and then analyzing the language to learn their way of seeing life and their explanation of how things work.

Why the laughter
While working with Fredy, I started playing with words, trying to translate from Spanish into ko’revaju a word he himself used, “father of the family.” When I threw my translation into ko’revaju at Fredy (I thought), he laughed a little.

For 22 years, we was mobilizing the church us our primary ministry, and partially we served with the missionary training. Our goal was to make the church aware of the need to work cross culturally among the unreached ethnic groups to share the gospel with them.
