All of our young missionary men and women are changing with each new day and I am so thankful for the E-2 program that pushes them into the next stage of moving into a tribe. I realize no two men or women grow in training the same way, many learn day by day while others seem to only endure looking for the day testing is done. Janie and I encourage, comfort and urge them to finish the ministry God and the church has sent them to do.
There are many fears and moves a missionary must make to finish the work he or she has come to do. Fear will grip one’s heart but living out some of the things they fear moving into a tribe will give them courage to hear Jesus say, “Fear not, I AM with you.” Fear can put one in a box and close the lid for ministry and dash to pieces a dream of preaching the gospel to those that have never heard.
Watching them grow in language learning, building relationships with our villages near us and the simple task of building a fire to cook native food makes me think; yes, it is worth the time it takes to prepare them for each move they make. We train together and we pray together and together we will move deeper and deeper into the darkness that needs to be penetrated bringing the light of the gospel and the gift of salvation to those that hear and believe.
