Recently our Student Event Coordinator scheduled a Toboggan Party and the number of students and staff that attended was amazing … to me! (I was thinking … who in their right mind would be out playing in the snow in single digit temperatures and with a wee bit of a wind chill factor … but maybe the hot chocolate was a drawing factor!)
Jared had been out in the snow for several days already and when I reminded him of the “snow party” he just shook his head. I knew then and there he was not thinking of “fun in the snow”. There was no excitement for him in getting cold and wet for “fun”.
So although Jared and I did not attend this event I was surprised to see that our son, Matthew did. I guess he has learned that you can have “fun in the snow” as well as in the “heat or mud of Paraguay”.
How thankful I am for the children that God has given us!
