God blessed us this summer with quality time with our girls and their families, and also other family members, and long time family friends. So often it is “in and out” or “hi and bye”. It was so neat to see the light in our grand-babies’ eyes and realize that they know our faces and voices. We are mindful that we need to build those relationships now with them or “tomorrow” may be too late.
How thankful I am for the tips my mama gave me when we went to the field of Paraguay to help in making and maintaining a connection with family when we were thousands of miles apart from each other! Her wisdom was a treasure to me.
And an extra “gift” that God gave us this summer was spending two days with my brother enjoying something that is a memory-maker for our family … the Sprint Car Nationals in Knoxville, Iowa. It has been decades since we have done this and needless to say, I felt like pinching myself because I could not believe it was happening!
God gave us a summer that we had not planned … and it was good!
