We live in apartment in the middle of town. The closest Missionary lives at least a 10 minute walk away. No one has lived where we are so we have to figure out things about our location on our own. We have received some help from people around here to located some stores and markets, but we are really on our own. This has made us step outside of our comfortable box and just try new things. Sometimes these things go well and sometimes they are an adventure. Last night was the adventure type.
One thing we have realized about where we live is that every Saturday there is a huge used clothing market down the main street outside our house. We learned this our first weekend as we heard the hammering outside our window around 10PM on Friday when they were setting the booths up. Saturday morning our street is jam packed with people who are rummaging through the markets and buying clothes.
Yesterday afternoon we headed to NTM head quarters for a farewell dinner for some missionaries who are leaving on an 8 month road trip. It was getting late and we decided to head home and put the boys to bed. We decided to take a taxi since it was late and the bus goes a lot slower. The taxi was furiously driving through side streets trying to get to our house. Well we discovered that it is near impossible to get to our house on a Friday evening without being in traffic for hours. We finally decided that we would just walk. It was 105 degrees. Both boys were held in our arms close to asleep. I have never been so happy to see our little apartment in my life. We will have to think very carefully about what we go out for on Friday and Saturday night!

Wow. That is an adventure. Way to be willing to try it and now you know better what you have to consider 🙂
Is there anything (mailable items) that you are missing from state side?
