Pray

October 9, 2011 by Joel and Andi

Pray For Ethan

Tomorrow Ethan starts school.  He will board a bus at 7 and go to a local private French preschool.  We ask prayer that it would go well for him and that he would adjust quickly.  We know that it will be hard to be in a school that speaks a different language, but we also believe that in the long run this is the best way for him to learn French.  He knows two kids at the school, and we have heard that the teacher he has is really great.  Please pray God would send extra blessings to him this week.

Pray for Me (Andi)

I am keeping this short, because I am on my second day of running a fever.  I am fighting to keep anything down and struggling to sleep.  The heat here doesn’t help things.  I have a nurse checking in on me and will probably go to the doctor tomorrow.  Please pray that I would get better and that no one else in our family would get this.  We will have to miss class tomorrow, but it would be nice to be able to start back on Tuesday.

Praying for you Andi, I know it must feel even worse being sick and so far from home. Ethan will do fine and some day in the future will appreciate the way he learned the language since he will learn the colloquial French rather than textbook. My parents made the same decision for me when we first went to Haiti. Kids learn language so much quicker than we adults do.
