Today we said good bye to some good freinds. The most difficult part was watching Ethan say good bye to his closest friend here in Africa. Sometimes it seems like good byes have plagued our life and in reality they will probably always be a part of our life. It is hard as a parent to watch your child grieve. I am hanging on dearly to the truth that God will not give Ethan more than he can handle. At the same time I am learning to trust that just as God brought along this friend for my son, at a much needed time, so will he provide the next.

Good byes are always hard, even as adults. Just think of this as a learning lesson for his (& your) future. Our grandson’s best friend moved last summer to the other side of the US. They now visit by Skype (as you do). But—its still hard, I know. Praying.

Seeing our children struggle is always hard, but God is faithful. He will comfort you so you inturn can comfort Ethan. A new friend is just around the corner.
