By the end of the week, we could definitely see the impact the added stress of the country’s instability has put on us. Although we do not feel in any immediate danger, there are so many things that we have to consider each day. Each morning we have to decided whether it is safe to send Ethan to school. We try to stay home whenever it isn’t necessary to leave, which means we have spent most of the week inside our home. If we do need to go out we have to check the safety of where we are headed. By the end of the week the stress was taking a toll on the amount of patience we had in our parenting. Sometimes the way we treat our children is a red flag that tells me we are doing things with our own strength. As a family, we were able to get out today and let the kids run around outside. It looks like the weekend will be a little more calm, which will hopefully bring some much needed rest. Yet no matter what happens, I am praying that God would help us even in the mist of added stress to be patient parents.

Yeah, it’s weird to stop and think about what our parents had to go through in Haiti with all the times we had coups and the couple times we were evacuated. As a child it was just an inconvenience, but as a parent that must be so stressful! I can’t imagine facing that with my own kids. May God continue to shower you with his grace and peace!
Oh, and I have to say that I love Tyler’s wavy hair. You know Joel had the cutest little curl to the ends of his hair when he was little too! How adorable.
