Last week was difficult. We walked along side our host family as they grieved the death of a family member. This was our first time to be at a funeral here in Africa, but we weren’t able to just sit and observe it we were up front and involved. It was a difficult time as we wanted desperately to be a support, but often didn’t know how to best do that. Yet despite our weakness and uncertainty God was still at work. Thursday, after the Funeral, Cecil’s neighbor came to tell us that he now sees that we not like others who have come and that we truly care about the people. It was a great reminder to me that people are watching and that even when I can’t communicate much with words God’s love can still be seen.
