Although thanksgiving is not celebrated here, I still want to take some time to thank God for the many blessing that have come our way. This year has been a year of learning how to appreciate the basics of life.
I am thankful for…
- My Savior
- Running water
- Our support team who faithfully stands beside us in our ministry
- Every day that our family is completely healthy
- A Bible that I can read and understand
- The ability to learn language and adapt to a new cultures
- How God gently guides and sustains us through the dark times
- Electricity and all the blessings it provides when it is available
- The visual example my kids saw this year of how God provides and cares for us
- Our bug zapper and the sound it makes when I catch a mosquito
- Our new home that we will be moving into next week
- Skype which allows me to stay connected though I am far away
- The visitors we have coming this Christmas
- My amazing husband has stood by my side through the the trials and blessings of the year
- The box filled with cheese that my mom mails every 3 months. I could live without cheese, but am very glad I don’t have to.
- My two kids who have grown so much this past year
- A school that Ethan enjoys
- Our two nannies who came at different times and served by our side.
- An amazing host family who have helped us in so many ways this past year
- My Godly parents who have encouraged me and supported me throughout my life
- Our waterbed and fans which keeps us cool at night
- Our small African church who we worship and serve alongside
- The training we had and how it prepared us for our life here
- Mango season – YUM
- The beach and how it provides a place to get away
- The doors God is opening in our ministry here
- The cool evening air
- The opportunity we daily have to serve and give
- Power of prayer
- The reminder this blog has been of the blessings in our life
I am humbled by your list. So many things we think we “need”. I rejoice with you in the many ways God has guided you, loved you, and provided for you. Happy Thanksgiving!
