The Oasis In the Desert

December 11, 2012 by Joel and Andi

I didn’t know that we could be in paradise while living in the desert, but this past week has been that.  Words can’t express what a blessing this time has already been and it has only begun.  It is amazing to be in our home with family celebrating Christmas.  Joel and his dad have been working on projects and have successfully brought running water to our house!  The boys are filled with Joy to have some much time with their Grandparents.  Ethan told me that even if he got no presents this Christmas, just having Grandma and Grandpa here was special enough.  There is not much more I can say to express how amazing this week has been, so I will let the pictures speak for themselves.

We celebrated Thanksgiving together
Decorated for Christmas
With homemade crafts
Frosted lots of cookies
And maybe snatched a few bits
Read Stories together
But mostly are just enjoying every moment we have together
These moments for us are rare
But we are grateful for every moment!

It looks like a little taste of what heaven will be like! Praise God for family! What joy! Streams in the desert!

I was reading Rev. 7 today and this portion reminded me that you have a part in bringing this outcome! …. there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb! They were wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried in a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God, Who sits on the throne and to the Lamb”.

    Dear Andi and Joel,

Thank you for sharing your pictures. It is always a blessing. Glad you got your house all set up and that Joel’s father was there to help with the water. Looks like the kids are having a great time with Grandma and Grandpa. Hope the joy of your Christmas celebration spills over to your neighbors and those with whom you worship. Blessings to all of you

Like Andrea, it warms my heart to read about this. We love Bruce and Cindy, and are so excited for Becca and Michelle to get there!

Also, fun to see Polish pottery at your Thanksgiving celebration! Surprised Andrea didn’t mention that in her comment.
