Some Dreams Come True

December 3, 2012 by Joel and Andi

Here is the story Ethan wrote tonight (through dictation to me) for his Grandma…

“Once upon a time there were four sand castles.  The four sand castles were way apart.  2 were in Haiti and the other 2 were in Africa.  The 2 castles in Africa said, ” How do we visit the two castles in Haiti?”  The castles in Haiti said, “How can we get to the other castles waiting for us in Africa?  They are so far away and the ocean is very big.”  Then the two castles in Haiti found a boat and 2 people used shovels to scoop up the sand castles and put them in the boat.  The men took them across the ocean.  The other two castles saw the boat and said, “I think that our friends are coming”  The boat stopped and the men jumped out with the castles.  They all shouted for joy.  The End”

Right there you can see it…pure joy.  We are shouting with joy as we go to Dakar tomorrow to pick up Joel’s parents and prepare to spend the Christmas season with them.  It is the best gift we could have asked for.

We have worked hard this week
We had help, but it was still just a lot of hard work
All in all everything went very smoothly
And everything (including our water reservoir) is over at our new house
Words can't express how excited we are for the month ahead of us. Thank you God for the blessing of family!

I love this story. I saw it from Michelle on FB. I am so thankful to hear the answers to prayer for a relatively smooth move and am so excited for the joy you will have with extra family. I pray for joy, laughter, fun, happiness, and praise of God providing it all. Enjoy!!!

That’s the best story I’ve read in a while! It made me smile and want to cry with the sweetness of it all! Tell Ethan, that I LOVE his story!

Have a great time! I know you will. I tried to send chocolates, but your mom vetoed it Joel. I think she just wanted them all for herself! But there is pepperoni for Ethan I hear! Have fun playing Stone Age.
love and prayers, and Merry Christmas too!

We are so excited for you all. Can’t imagine the fun that is to be had by two grandparents and two little boys. Sure wish I was a fly on the wall.

So very happy for you. Love to all the McMartins in one place. I pray this will be a blessing and refreshing time all together. Sometimes God gives us what we need at the right time. This will make me smile just thinking of all of you together in Africa
