Our Language Helper
Awhile ago we were praying for God to direct us to a good language helper. God did just what we asked. We have been blessed to have a language helper who is not only patient and helpful, but also one who loves the Lord. Moussa is a man from our local church. He has been a believer for about 6 years. When he came to faith he lost his wife and child and was rejected by the rest of his family. He was fired from his job and continues to face ridicule from members of his family. Throughout all of this, however, he continues to Love the Lord and seeks to grow. He also willingly chooses to live with his family despite how they treat him. He chooses to show love to them so that his family might have the opportunity to see God’s love. We asked him to come everyday to help us with language, but we are learning so much more about what it means to sacrifice. I can’t help but be encouraged and challenged by this man. I pray that we too will be willing to sacrifice that God’s love might be seen through us.
Progress
We now are two weeks into our language study and it has been going great. The language has some challenges, but so far we have remained encouraged and keep pressing forward. On top of our Wolof study we continue to stretch our levels in French through our interactions outside our language study. Joel will begin leading Sunday school at church and I am facilitating the next Woman’s Bible study here. It is a busy time of life for us, but God continues to strengthen us each day.

I remember you mentioning Moussa before. How humbling and what a good example of the kind of attitude we should have as Christians. Thank you for sharing. I am glad language study is going well and I am so blessed to hear the many ways you are able to minister to the church there. I love you!
