The Storm Subsides

June 17, 2013 by Joel and Andi

We made it through the seven days and our new believer (Paul) is still here and in good health.  The rituals they have used in the past to draw so many back to their home didn’t work this time.  The powers they use are strong, but our God is stronger.

What We Learned From This Week

  • A glimpse into the other world – this man has shown us truths and realities about the world we live in that we had never seen.
  • Don’t underestimate the powers of Satan – he has a strong foothold on this world that we sometimes try to ignore.
  • You had better come prepared – This week drew us and many others to our knees in prayer as we watched this man suffer and fight
  • It is exhausting – The physical toll it took was astounding
  • OUR GOD HAS ALREADY WON!!! – This truth is more real to us now than ever.  It is one thing to hear that he can calm the waves of the storm, but it is another thing to see it happening before our eyes.  Our God is able – more than able!

Discipleship Begins

Pray with us as we continue to disciple Paul.  He has grown up with ceremonies, rituals, prayers and memorization.  It is difficult to unlearn all of that.  We are now coming alongside him and trying to teach him that it is not about a prayer, but it is about a relationship with God.  This truth, however, is different from everything he has ever known.  Pray for him that he would grow in his faith and continue to fully give himself over to God.

It is always amazing watching new life Grow.

I made an error and I’m delighted that I did. I assumed in your last post that you were again talking about Abe. With that misinformation in hand I sent a notice to all my Arizona Bible study gals to again be praying for an unknown gentleman that I suspected was him. I know they joined me in prayer for his continued affirmation of the faith and strength to resist Satan. Prayers can never be wasted.

But, oh, how short-sighted I was. It was with great delight that I read today that this was for another man, Paul. How wonderful that you are(God is) making converts of others as well. We can now be praying for Abe and Paul and all others who hear and are challenged by the word.

Thanks Andi & Joel you and your work is bathed in prayer daily by so many. As you minister to those close to you , you are also ministering to so many of us far across the world from you. May God Bless you and the boys.

Thank you so much for the update! We will continue to pray for Paul’s growth and protection, for you to be wise and have energy to be faithful to God’s direction for you in Paul’s life, and for the salvation of those attacking him with Satanic curses/spells. What joy it would be to see Paul’s father and others come to Jesus as well. Please keep us updated! May you continue to see God’s hand and His power at work around you and grow in faith and trust of our Almighty God!

    Andi,

We have an amazing God, and He is totally able. Praise the Lord that what others have tried to use against Paul has failed!
