One of the fun things about having visitors is that we do some of the touristy things here that we never do otherwise. This past Saturday we went on an African Safari. It is not anything as cool as you might see if you were in Southern Africa, which is full of animals (remember we live in the desert :)), but I was pleasantly surprised by it and all it all it was a great moment together as a family. Here are some picture of what we saw.

Next week we head into our official vacation with my parents. I am taking a week off from language and we are going to the mission in Dakar to enjoy a break from a few of the realities of ministry that are always around us. I am very glad that my parents were here long enough that they could not only have fun with us and experience the Safari, but also see a little bit of normal life, because normal life is not a safari. So excited for the week of vacation ahead of us and especially for the ICE CREAM!!!

That safari looked pretty neat. I hope all of you had a good time. What a great memory. Hugs for all. Ken, Mom, and I prayed for all of you after church this morning.
You say this is nothing like would be seen in southern Africa, well I don’t know but this looks pretty fantastic to me. What a wonderful opportunity for you and your parents. I can’t wait to hear all about it. Give Mike & Rene hugs from me and tell them Anna and I are going to play together tomorrow. We’ll have fun!
Keep us posted on Abe and his tests. We are all praying for him to have peace and hopefully to pass the tests.
God Bless you all,
Carolyn
Once again, thanks for sharing your “heart” with us. Wonderful memories for all of you. Safe travels on your vacation. Rest up!
I like the mother and baby warthog. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool!
