This week has been a week of goodbyes, to some people who will be here when we return in 6 months and others who will leave between now and then. The emotions have been up and down as we have been caught off guard by how much this has become our home.

Wednesday we board a plane, actually 3 planes, as we will fly all day to our final destination of St. Louis. You can pray for us as these are long flights equaling a long day of travel. On top of that, our second flight’s time changed making our layover really short. I am praying that somehow we will make it, but it seems very unlikely.
After picking up our car in St Louis we will head to the NTM training center for a week as a family to process this transition and get some much needed sleep. We have run hard at the end and we are feeling the exhaustion. After that we will make our trek across the US, stopping to see family, friends and supporters. We will meet up with Andi’s family for a family reunion in California. Then finally we will make it to Portland. We plan to take this month off. So if you don’t hear from us for a while that is why. We would love your prayers that God would use this time to refresh our hearts and renew our spirits.
However….
August 2nd, from 10 am – 2 pm, we will have a Welcome Back Open House. All of you in the Portland and Vancouver area are invited to come. It will take place at: 4111 E Burnside. It is just a casual time to say hi to any who want to come. We would also love to see as many people as we can over our 6 months in the states. So get something on the calendar with us! It seems like a long time, but it will go fast.

Dear Andi and Joel,
I hope to catch you and the boys around. On June 30, I had spinal surgery–one disc removed, two fused, and two laminectomies. There is no way that I can be at your folks for the open house.

Hi, Andi & Joel!
We would love to have you over. We are free from Aug 17 to the 31st if you are free any of those days or evenings. Maybe for a picnic. If it is hot, we have a small pool & sprinklers.
