Behind us there is an empty lot where they have begun construction. We have had a front row seat to watch the action as they began with clearing the land and then laying out the plan for the foundation. It has been fun to see the whole process develop in front of us almost like a time lapse photo. The other day as they were preparing to begin digging we looked out the window and this is what we saw.
A sheep is being slaughtered by the work crew and the blood drained out into a hole in the ground. A necessary step before digging could began. As I watch this take place, in my heart it made me so glad for what we have in Christ. We have one sacrifice that covers all. I don’t often remember to be grateful for the gift we were given, but this was a good reminder.
“Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet. For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.” Hebrews 10:11-14
This is a reminder of why you folks are there. To share about the Lamb of God who can take away their sin.
We pray for open hearts and ears to hear the trust of the gospel.
We pray you will make it out in July. We just found out this past Sunday that we will begin having three services starting this coming Sunday. Unfortunately they are limited to 50 people each, but it is a start and we are thankful.
