Awakening…

August 22, 2012 by Joel Potter

It’s a term used often to create mystery, to form a mental image of something not yet realized. It’s also the name of the most recent video that our communications team has put together and it’s title perfectly describes the content. Imagine the little shoot of a baby Oak tree just pushing through the ground. That little shoot is incredibly vulnerable and it’s potential as a  gracefully strong hardwood tree is far from realized. But it has vast potential if it continues to thrive and mature.

In this video we see the beginnings of a story(which really began with a couple from Australia choosing to let an amazing God use their live’s for his purposes not their own) of a people group in the Philippines who are realizing little by little, as these missionaries learn their language and translate the Bible, that the God of the Bible has done something amazing.

They don’t yet understand the depth, but they’re coming to realize that the weight of sin is heavier on them than all the boulders and rocks in the nearby river but that God is going to somehow deal with that sin.

“I can’t wait to hear how God is going to deal with that and get rid of that sin” – Tusido

This story isn’t finished yet, these people have yet to hear the epic conclusion of God’s redemption, but God’s word is awakening their souls to a hope that’s not been in their valley since the beginning of time.

Don’t take my word for it, watch it for yourself here.
