Songs of praise from the ends of the earth: Emma Grace’s Song

April 17, 2017 by Joel Potter

One of the stories Joel was able to tell over the past few weeks was a precious one. You may have seen it if you followed any of NTM’s social media channels, but the story of a little girl, Emma Grace, captured the hearts of many.

About nine years ago, a little girl was born to parents in the Moi people group in an Asian Pacific island. Her father, doubting that she was actually his child forbade the childs mother to keep her and instead she was culturally bound to leave the child outdoors and unprotected to die.

NTM missionaries along with a team of aviators from Missionary Aviation Fellowship (MAF) acted quick to save the childs life and then when she recovered from the experience, lived for a short time with church planters and translators in the village until it was clearly safe and understood that she could live at home again. She was given the name Emma Grace and by God’s own grace, her mother Iyodotabo believed in God’s truth for salvation. She is in the process of raising all her children, Emma Grace included, in the ‘grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ!’

This story is amazing as it continues to be told by our God. You’ve got to see the video of Emma Grace leading a group of other Moi kids in a worship song that she created herself. Click into the video below!
