Home Sweet Home

August 15, 2013 by John and Asmara Anyan

On Tuesday afternoon, we drove our last miles toward what will be our new home for the next couple of years — and boy, were we excited to see the sign that said “NTM Missionary Training Center”!!! Tucked away in the woods and located directly on a lake, the campus in much bigger, much greener, and much more beautiful than we expected! Here are some first impressions:

We were met by our hosts (the staff members who live in the same four-plex as we do) and shown the apartment we’d be living in…let’s just say it’s NOT an apartment designed to prepare us for rural missionary life :)! Big kitchen with island, dishwasher (it’s been a while since we’ve had one of those!), lots of storage space,  2 bedrooms and big bathroom upstairs, extra little office area, A/C… but see for yourselves!

We’ve been busy unpacking, making it feel more like home, exploring the campus, and meeting lots of lots of fellow missionaries! And we are just so THANKFUL for how God has guided and provided for and blessed us so abundantly. Judah’s been LOVING all the kids, the water, and the toys, but has also been acting up a lot more, which we expected with all the changes around him. We are excited to have several more days to settle in and then get started with classes and ministry and everything else on Monday.

We cherish your prayers so very much, so here are some specific prayer requests:

– Patience and wisdom for us and a smooth transition for Judah as we adjust to our new surroundings

– Rest for me and baby boy #2, as I have been a lot more uncomfortable just in the last couple of days and unable to do the work around the house that I really want to do

Please update us on your prayer requests as well! We’d love to hear from you!!!

    Liebe Asmara, lieber John!

    Alles Liebe
