Fun Foto Friday #33

August 22, 2014 by John and Asmara Anyan

Back in Roach, back to school, back to the busyness of daily life! Here are some glimpses of our first 2 weeks back here at the Training Center:

Community Kick-Off BBQ: around 600 people attended a BBQ hosted by New Tribes and it was a great way for us and the boys to re-connect with old friends and meet some new ones!

Judah & his BFF Selah... these two sure missed each other over the summer! I think you can tell by Judah's face he was happy to see her again :)

Elias & Miriam (3 months apart)
Elias & Selah’s little sister Miriam. And yes, we are already arranging a double wedding in the far future with Judah&Selah and Elias&Miriam 🙂

Hot Missouri Summer: Man, I forgot how humid it gets here in Missouri! Not being 9 months pregnant like last summer helps a bit, though. We’ve been having lots of fun playing outside on our free afternoons (now that we’re not super busy with ministry and homework quite yet) and are soaking up the summer while we can!

Gotta love finger paint (and hoses to shower off they boys afterward)

So Much to Learn… And we dove right back into it with Phonemics (how to create an alphabet for an unwritten language) and Literacy class (how to teach people to read and write). So exciting!

Phonemics... confusing and fascinating at the same time!

GROWING UP! It’s so strange seeing all the babies & kids on campus who have grown into active infants, wobbly toddlers, and big pre-schoolers over the summer.  Including our boys! Judah seems soooo old and is really starting to communicate in both English and German, which is very encouraging to us. He also started sleeping in a “real” bed now, which was quite the transition. Elias started WALKING a couple of days ago, says “Mama” and “Dada,” and waves at every car that passes :).
