Trusting God at Moody

Hello,

Starting Aug. 27th I started attending Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. This past semester has been filled with many different lessons. It has been a bumpy road but not one without growing and seeing God be faithful to me even when I have not been faithful to Him. In the midst of taking 18 credits, making friends, adjusting to living in the big city and looking for a job I still had needs that had to be met. The need that stood out to me the most was the fact that I had to pay for school but did not have all the money I needed. As the semester wore on I began to wonder what God had in store for me. I watched as God provided random jobs for me to earn some money, but I still needed more money than I could come up with on my own. To my amazement and delight, in the beginning of Nov., I received four different scholarships that paid for my $2,900 school fee for the rest of my fall 2012 semester. I am still amazed by how God chose to provide for me! He is so faithful!

I started out in the Elementary Education degree at school, but then I switched to the Childrens Ministry degree. I am excited about this opportunity to get a degree to be able to work with children who have been neglected or abused and need consistency and love. This is where my heart is and I want to be an advocate for children. As I look at going back to school, which starts Jan. 14th, I find that once again I am not able to provide for myself. I don’t have the money I need to be able to go back to school. I do not feel that God is leading me to do something else at this point except return to school, yet reality is that if I don’t have the money I can’t go back. From a human perspective needing over $2,000 in a week seems impossible but I know that our God is the God of the impossible! It is very humbling when you cannot meet your own needs. Yet this is how God is teaching me to Trust Him for Everything I need! I do not know what God has in store for my future, but I do know that He is in control and has a plan. I hope that as we start this new year we can all remember this. I would like to ask you to pray with me for the finances I need for school and for a consistent job. Pray that I would continue to Trust Him no matter what the future holds. If I cannot return to school pray that God would make it clear to me what He wants me to do and where He wants me to go.

In Christ,
