The past month has been very quiet in the village. The people have been out harvesting their fields and we have been using this quiet season to concentrate on translation and preparing Bible study lessons.
This past week, quiet season ended. Many people have finished their harvesting and we had visitors arrive. Ronalyn Stevens, in the back, is one of our missionary co-workers serving with CARM. Three Filipina friends also came: Jennifer, in the back on the left, and La-arni and Yoyen on the far right. We have been wanting these ladies to visit us for a long time so we were excited that there was an opportunity for them to come.
La-arni and Jennifer are longtime friends of ours from Aritao days. They have both become nurses and agreed to come in and provide a training workshop for our clinic workers. The workshop was very encouraging and will be a benefit to our community.
In addition to the excitement of having four visitors and a health workshop, we also had two ladies Bible Studies (the first picture), a church service, and two back-to-back medical emergencies. The first one was a man whose urinary tract was blocked and the second was a young boy who showed symptoms of having appendicitis. In both cases we were very thankful to have two nurses to help us and a pilot who is willing to help, even on his day off.
Prayer Requests:
Please pray that the two patients will get good medical help in town and make a good recovery.
Please thank the Lord with us for the ladies who visited us and were such an encouragement to us and to the people here.
Please thank the Lord that the rice harvest has gone very well this year with no typhoon damage.
Thank you for your prayers!
God bless,
Jonathan & Heidi
