Update for the last week of October

October 26, 2017 by Jonathan and Heidi Bamford

Heidi and I have been out of the village for a week and, Lord willing, will be on our way home tomorrow.

Our week out in town started with a need for us to visit Michael and Garet Gatawa (pictured above) who are running a great ministry called the Ifugao Project. God is using the Ifugao Project ministry to take the Gospel message into schools and to villages that don’t have their own pastors. Since we were in Ifugao country we also stopped in for a quick visit with our good friends, Trevor and Norma Douglas.

Since we were going to be near the famous Banaue rice terraces, we invited Rachel, the Hinderagers, and the Williams to come along on the trip. This worked out very well; they got to see the terraces and we got some quality time with Cameron and the babies.

But the trip wasn’t all vacation for them. The Hinderagers and Williams are wanting to have a ministry among the Northern Isnag in the future, so on the way home, we stopped for a meeting with, Dr. Rudy Barlaan, the SIL translator who recently finished the New Testament in N. Isnag and is making steady progress on the Old Testament. We appreciate Rudy’s encouragement to the Hinderagers and Williams and his willingness to help them make relationships in the area he has worked for many years.

Prayer Requests:

  • When we head home tomorrow we are taking a family from Norway with us. Please pray for safety in travel and that the Oma family will be encouraged by their visit to the village.
  • Please pray for the Hinderagers and Williams as they finish up their Tagalog study and start building relationships among the N. Isnag. Pray that God will lead them to the place he wants them to minister.

Thank you for your prayers!

God bless,

Jonathan & Heidi
