This past week, Heidi and have been at our support center working on reviewing our translation consultant’s comments for Romans and Ephesians, correcting the translation where needed, and then adjusting the back translation to match. It was a happy moment when we got to the end and emailed everything back to the consultants. There is only a week before they come out to the village and test everything in person.
While in town, we have had a few visitors whom we have enjoyed spending a bit of time with. These two young ladies are an important part of a new team that is planning to work in the northern Isnag dialect in the near future.
This past weekend they took their mothers and brother/friend out for a visit to the northern Isnag. Their dads traveled ahead overland, on motorcycles. If you are interested, the Williams posted a video of their trip: https://youtu.be/pLEyjWT4wpE
We have several prayer requests, but the one that is really on our hearts is for the Brooks family. A large tumor has grown very rapidly on Danny’s left hip and he is scheduled for surgery Friday night, Philippine time. Please pray that the surgery will go well and that the tumor will be benign. It will be a few days before they get the biopsy results. Please pray that they will be comforted by God’s grace which helps us in all situations.
Other prayer requests:
- We are hoping to fly to the village today, but the weather isn’t looking too good at the moment.
- That we will be able to accomplish a couple community development projects before the translation consultants arrive.
- That our time with the translation consultants will be profitable and that we will be able to get Romans and Ephesians consultant checked and ready to print before our home assignment in March.
Thank you for your prayers!
God bless,
Jonathan & Heidi
