It’s not very often that we get a cold reception, but last week we had an impressive one; an ice storm arrived the day of Thomas and Emily’s wedding reception.
Aunt Kay took this beautiful photo of Hillside Bible Church, where we had the reception. About half of the guests were unable to attend due to the storm, but we had a great time visiting with those who were able to make it. Thank you, Pastor Tim, for turning on the heat in the building. It was a warm reception inside.
Since the reception we have had many warm receptions. We have been trying to see as many friends and family as possible before we head back to the Philippines later this week. Pictured above are friends from our days of living in Vancouver, Washington who came out on a cold winter night to meet us as we passed along their stretch of highway.
We have also been able to fit in a few speaking engagements. It was great to have Bible time with three classes at Cornerstone Christian school and give a report to the Livewires group at Shelton First Baptist. This Sunday, we’ll be at Westwood Baptist in Olympia in the morning and Family Bible Fellowship in the evening.
Carrie is on a quick trip to Canada to see a long-time friend from the Philippines. She plans to get back on Monday and then will leave for Florida the same day we leave for the Philippines.
Charles plans to travel from Idaho to Washington this week to see us before leave. He will be looking for a job in western Oregon or Washington.
Thank you for praying for us as we wrap up things on this side of the ocean and paddle back to the other side.
God bless,
Jonathan and Heidi
