Jordan and the semi driver, praying and waiting to hear from the medics.
Today’s journey went well enough us, but not for others on the road. Midway through our day, Amy witnessed the final seconds of a horrifying crash. A 55-65 year old man in a silver F-150 appeared to have lost consciousness while driving, and after inadvertently going off-road he slammed into the rear of a parked semi truck.

We pulled off immediately and called 911 – the gentleman was bleeding slowly but consistently, and was non-responsive. Since we could not get into his vehicle, there wasn’t much else we could do for him until the Sheriff and ambulance arrived. It was more than a bit crazy – we found that he was handicapped in some way, and his breathing was becoming more irregular. We were worried that he’d fallen asleep while driving, or possibly had a stroke or heart attack.

Eventually, the medical team broke the driver out of his vehicle, moved him as if his neck was possibly broken, and took him into the ambulance to be stabilized. When we left, they had not yet loaded him into the helicopter.

Please pray for this man and his family. At this point, we know nothing about him other than that he was alive with a very weak pulse. The sheriff did not expect that he would survive long. We will follow up to see how he is doing… in the meantime, please continue to pray for him during this critical time – regarding both his life and his standing before the Lord.
